Journey Home

Every day, a wife picks up her husband at local train station at 5. One day he arrives an hour early and begins to walk home along the road which his wife would be traveling. While walking he calls his wife and tells her he is currently walking home. She gets in her car, meets him, and takes him the rest of the way home. If he would have waited at the train station, she would have arrived there at 5. As it turned out, they reached home 20 minutes early. What time was it when she picked him up?

How did you come up with 430? I believe the correct answer is 450.

Could you explain how the answer is 4:50?

I assumed that this "As it turned out, they reached home 20 minutes early." means that they arrived at 4:40. Therefore the wife's travel to pick up the husband would occur on 4:30. But I was obviously confused by the "20 min early"

There appears to be not enough information My conclusion would either be 4:30 or 4:40

I believe the answer is properly given as an equation which describes the arrival time in terms of variables.
